Mods - if this is in the wrong place I am sorry, but I couldn't find a review place for hair colourants.
OK, so for those that know me, they'll know how often my hair changes colour.....however earlier this year I got sick of the constant upkeep & went back to black. It's been black about 4/5 months I think & usually re-dye once a month; so a fair amount of black build up.
In the past I've used the cheaper "Jo Bazz" version colour remover, once to get rid of one box-dye blue black (which I'm told is a PITA to get rid of) my hair went a coppery auburn, which was expected & 2 bleaches later my hair was blonde. The Jo Bazz version STINKS, like full on honks worse than a bin left out in the summer sun & is incredibly drying, so I like to have some Joico K-Pak in the house if I use that. I sed it a second time to remove a fair few layers of orange & red, with fairly decent results; again bleached right after & had really pale blonde hair.
Ok, so this is me from a few weeks ago, see how lovely & black that is?? (also, lookit my work uniform....how cool is that?)
The CB4 called for mixing parts A & B together & applying to dry hair, covering with clingfim & leaving for an hour. It does say on the instructions to wash your hair with clarifying shampoo to remove any product build-up (I used washing up liquid as I know that does the same and can help fade colour) The process for rinsing it is relatively easy, rinse for up to 10 minutes, use half of bottle C, leave for a minute, rinse & repeat. The version I used comes with a conditioner as well.
Here is the result:
Overall, I'm happy with the result. I was expecting maybe a shade lighter than I got, but I was a little concerned that nothing would happen. I *could* have bleached it straight away (I'm thinking of going teal, maybe) but for now it's staying brown. With the aim to bleach bath later on in the week & again some time next week probably.
I'll keep you updated with progress.
