A crocheted dread wig, Its a full wig but I use it as a 3/4 wig by clipping it further back on my head. I think it looks a lot better that way and I can use my natural hair as a fringe. The blue dreads are made by Anouk Dreadmaker and have been sewed on to wig clips (about 3 per clip) so I can clip them in when I want an extra bit of colour.

Another crocheted dread-wig. Also a full wig meant to be worn as a 3/4 wig. Made with mixed 613 blond and 27 Strawberry blond and some brown. Plus the wigs original hair.

An old set of mine that I re-sealed for a client. I believe it was Shedevils Blood red for the main part. The other I blended. I also added some camo coloured dreads which I belive I used a medium/dark brown A caramel type of color plus a grass green and a emerald green. On the "naturals" I used a felting needle and soem of them I boiled for a while, which mostly made them go a lighter colour but did help them a tiny bit with matting up more.

These are the dreads I made for a swap with Anna. I was experimenting with different methods of crocheting. The ones on the right are the same methods I used previously for rounded "naturals" I may have use a crochet needle instead of a felting needle though due to less breakages on the more brittle hair. After pouring boiling water over them I did a final seal by rotating them while they were pressed against my steamer head, without twisting them. I did twist the ends though. The middle ones I used the loopy crochet technique as show in the wonderful black sunshine tutorial. The one of the left were kind of free form with a mix of everything and just pulling hair from this way and that into the dread. As for the colours. I think there was Midnight blue, Navy Blue, dark petrol green, light petrol green, sky blue, dark brown, Shedevil white. I'm sure there were other colours and I did a lot of blending too.
