I originally picked up this dye because it is the only orange available locally. The brand Sparks is supposed to be a dupe for Pravana, with identical ingredients and very similar packaging. I haven't used Pravana so I can't totally vouch for that.
It's a semi permanent/ direct dye and should not be mixed with peroxide developer. Like all dyes of this type it is best applied to bleached hair and would probably show best on hair bleached to gold/yellow but would likely still show on hair bleached to red-orange.
Orange Crush is a bright true orange, it's not neon like Special Effects Napalm Orange. It comes in a metal tube like tooth paste and has a very thick consistency. A little goes a long way though so don't be afraid to mix it with conditioner, it won't dilute the color and will make it easier to apply. If I used it neat from the package I would probably need 3-4 whole tubes to do my entire head but I only needed 1/4 of a tube with conditioner for an entire head. I think this dye smells gross though, like men's aftershave, the fragrance is really strong and annoying. I usually leave dye on for an hour or two and sometimes the odor gives me a headache (especially when I mix it with Nrage Bubble Gum pink which smells like gross artificial cherries).
Dim lighting- Manic Panic Wildfire (faded) on top and Sparks Orange Crush on the bottom:
This color is extremely long lasting. Most orange dyes tend to last long, but fade to a lighter orange or to a yellow-orange. Sparks Orange Crush does not seem to fade AT ALL on my hair. My hair has gone through various shades but the mid section of my hair has been this color since January and has only been topped up once in 8 months and even then I only did it because it felt weird to not put dye on that section when the rest of my hair was coated in dye.
Sunlight- Sparks Orange Crush is the orange shade just above the yellow:
(rest of colors from top to bottom: Manic Panic Wildfire, Nrage Bubble Gum Pink and Sparks Orange mixed, Sparks orange, Sparks yellow)
