Ah I never crossed the river when I was there but I did want to go to Algiers. It sounds nice and yeah I read about that. I promise myself I'm gonna go back each year but I can never afford the flight money.
Have you read Ned Sublette's book The World That Made New Orleans? It's absolutely fascinating.

I need to crack on with a new set of dreads I'm making too, a birthday gift for a friend. Only thing is I'm at a stage where I need to do needle felting, something I find both tedious and painful to my hands when I keep stabbing myself which I do a lot

Hope everyone that was feeling crappy is doing better today. I worked my face off yesterday and did 5 crocheted DE quad transitions, and then blended colors and completed 20 more Long crocheted DE's. I huuuuuuuuuuuurt today but feel so accomplished! Hoping now I can start catching up on bills... that vacation we've been waiting years to finally take was awesome but holy cow did it set me back. I was so not prepared! Ah well, now I know to better prepare next time I s'pose.

Wow go you! I like those days, where you get a silly amount of work done because you feel productive but yes it hurts

I'm fretting about a wedding I have to attend tomorrow, as regards what to wear. Due to recent massive weight gain and being horribly out of proportion, absolutely none of my formal dresses fit me. I have only two options available, as I can't afford to buy anything new.
First is a white maxi dress with a little fancy detailing, but I'm worried it's too casual as it's more of an "every day" dress, only slightly fancier. Second is black trousers and black blazer with a nice black top underneath (got nothing appropriate in any other colour), but I'm worried that this is too severe as weddings are supposed to be bright/colourful/happy, and this is also more or less the same outfit I wore for a funeral last year. Can any of you lovely ladies advise me on which would be a better choice?

Does the dress have detailing in a color other than white? And do you have a sweater or shoes you could dress it up with? There is of course the "white to a wedding" rule, but for summer weddings I think you can get away with it as long as you actually keep it a little more on the casual side.

No, the dress is plain white. I have only black shoes and the aforementioned black blazer, but I have no idea if that would work or not. Cheers for the advice
